Review Process

The Journal of Minimax Theory and its Applications is committed to maintaining the highest standards of peer review while increasing the efficiency of the process. All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous peer review process that includes the following steps:

  1. Initial Manuscript Evaluation:

    • The editor-in-chief first evaluates all submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's standards or are out of scope are rejected promptly without external review.
  2. Peer Review:

    • Manuscripts passing the initial evaluation are sent to at least two expert reviewers for a double-blind peer review, where both the reviewers and the authors are kept anonymous.
    • Reviewers are matched to the manuscript according to their expertise.
  3. Reviewer Reports:

    • Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodology, importance to researchers, and interest for readers, among other criteria detailed in the guide for reviewers.
    • Reviewers submit their reports with recommendations: accept, require minor or major revision, or reject.
  4. Editorial Decision and Revision:

    • The editor-in-chief considers the reviewers' feedback and makes the final decision to accept, invite revision of, or reject the manuscript.
    • Authors of papers that require revision are given detailed feedback to help them make the required changes.
  5. Final Decision:

    • After revisions, the manuscript may be sent back to initial reviewers or to new reviewers for further evaluation.
    • This process continues until the manuscript meets all necessary criteria for acceptance.
