Abstract

Blockchain security depends on cryptographic integrity, transaction authentication, consensus, and correct application logic. This paper presents a multi-algorithm cryptographic framework for blockchain data integrity and proposes a hybrid SHA-256/SHA3-256 construction for experimental evaluation. The prototype compares SHA-256, SHA3-256, BLAKE2b-256, and the proposed hybrid construction using measured hashing time and throughput on the execution environment used for this study. A tamper experiment modifies a transaction value and verifies whether the resulting digest changes. All evaluated 256-bit digest constructions detected the modification. The performance results are environment-dependent and are reported as measured rather than as universal claims.
