Abstract

The increasing use of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) devices generates sensitive healthcare data that require secure storage, confidentiality and integrity verification. This paper proposes a secure oriented IoMT data management framework integrating AES-GCM encryption, SHA-256 hashing, IPFS storage and batch blockchain anchoring. IoMT data are encrypted and stored in IPFS, while cryptographic hashes and content-addressing information are recorded on an Ethereum-compatible blockchain. Experimental evaluation on three files achieved 0.461 ms encryption time, 0.088 ms decryption time, 52.41 ms blockchain latency and 81,071 gas per file. Batch anchoring provided an estimated 66.67% amortized gas saving, while IPFS upload and download required 2074.57 ms and 2047.39 ms, respectively. The framework achieved 100% integrity verification for the evaluated files. The results show that cryptographic and blockchain operations introduce low computational overhead, whereas IPFS communication is the primary performance bottleneck. The proposed approach demonstrates the feasibility of combining decentralized storage and blockchain-based verification for secure-oriented IoMT data management. Future evaluation with larger datasets and different batch sizes can further validate its scalability and practical deployment.
